When you have followed the create a new novel wizard
all the way through, MyNovel will look like the following. There are other windows
which you can show - the research window, the
thesaurus window and the quick help window,
however the default layout includes just the novel explorer
and the properties window. To show the other windows
click on the layout and theme tab and use the
windows button.
The application menu
To show the application menu, click the round
button at the top left of the workspace. The application menu enables you to create
a novel, open an existing novel, and to save the novel you are working on. In addition,
it contains the printing and exporting button which enables you to print or export
your novel.
The ribbon bar
At the top of the workspace is the ribbon bar which includes
buttons to add chapters and characters to your novel, to format your text and so
on.
Docking
You can dock and undock the tool windows (the novel explorer,
the properties window, the research
window, the thesaurus and the
quick help window) as you wish. To undock a window drag the window via
its title bar. To dock it, drag it towards the side of the main application window.
Icons will appear in front of the main application window to enable you to dock
windows into tabs or into certain locations.
Help! I've lost a window
If you get confused with your window layout and don't seem to be able to find
a window, click on the drop down arrow underneath the windows button on the
layout and theme tab and choose reset all windows. The workspace will be
reset to the default layout with the novel explorer
on the left and the properties window at the bottom.
