To display this window, go to the layout and theme tab
on the ribbon bar, click the drop-down arrow under the
windows button and select show research window. Similarly to hide the research window
use the same procedure - or click the cross at the top right of the research window.

The research window is where you can link to miscellaneous pieces
of research such as web pages and files on your computer.
To add a link to a web page, click the link to web page button.
This will bring up an integrated web browser which allows you to find the web page
you are interested in. Which you click the Ok button the address and title of the
selected page is automatically stored in your research links.
To link to a file on your computer, click the link to file button.
This will bring up a file-open dialog allowing you to find a file on your computer.
NB: if you move your novel to another computer, such a link will probably no longer
be valid unless you also move the linked-to file too.
You can remove a link by selecting it and clicking the remove link
button.
You can open the linked item albeit a web page or file by clicking on the
open link button.
Alternatively, you can add research to individual characters, places, settings etc.
via the properties window. You can also add research
during the add new wizard for each type of entity. Such links don't appear here,
they appear within the properties for individual entities. The advantage of adding
links to individual entities rather than en-masse here is that they will be associated
with the entity to which they are relevant. The research section of the resources
panel is for miscellanous pieces of research; or pieces of research you
wish to refer to frequently.
