Events, characters, places and things
|
All of the events, characters, places and things you have currently added to your
novel are shown in the novel explorer window.
To add a new event, character, place or thing you should click one of the 'add'
buttons in the writing tab on the
ribbon bar. Each of these add buttons - e.g. the add character button -
takes you through a number of steps to familiarize yourself with the event, character,
place or thing then adds it to the novel.
In MyNovel parlance events, characters, places and things are all deemed 'entities.'
You can relate entities together. For instance you
can relate two characters together (to say they are married for instance), you can
relate a character to a place (to say the character lives there for instance), you
can relate a character to a thing (e.g. to specify ownership or desire.) You can
relate any entity with any number of other entities. The relationships you create
are the basis for the structure and complexity of your novel.
The diagramming system is an excellent means to
visualize the relationships between entities within your novel - for instance to
visualize family trees, chronologies and so on.
In addition, the relationships you create are also shown visually in the
expert novel explorer.
